Justice department seeks to close Hialeah tax preparer

The government has filed an action in Miami federal court to shut down a Hialeah tax preparer.

In its request for permanent injunction, the U.S. Department of Justice claims that tax-return preparers Alberto Alem, Beatriz Sardinas and Pilar Medina, and their company, PCPS Corp., prepared federal income tax returns with fabricated claims for the federal fuel tax credit that were more than $3.6 million.
