It is time that the international community of nations present a united front against bank secrecy and the criminal conduct of certain financial institutions which seek to hide behind jurisdictions that provide such secrecy. Emerging countries like India should take a more pro-active role in international forums against secrecy jurisdictions and should strongly support the action of the G20 in demanding greater transparency and accountability from all financial institutions that engage in cross-border transactions.
