Clark Gascoigne is the Communications Director at Global Financial Integrity in Washington, DC.

Welcome to the new website for the Task Force on Financial Integrity and Economic Development.

YouTube Preview ImageFounded in January 2009, the Task Force is a global coalition of civil society organizations and more than 50 governments – all working together to address inequalities in the financial system that penalize billions of people.

As such the Task Force advocates five priorities: curtailment of mispricing in trade imports and exports; country-by-country accounting of sales, profits, and taxes paid by multinational corporations; confirmation of beneficial ownership in all banking and securities accounts; automatic cross-border exchange of tax information; and harmonization of predicate offenses under anti-money laundering laws.  Together, these steps will greatly increase transparency.

Our hope is that this website will serve as your one-stop hub – providing you with everything you could possibly need about these issues.

  1. Our news section includes up-to-date news articles relating to the priorities of the task force as well as articles referencing the Task Force;
  2. The calendar includes Task Force – relevant events;
  3. Our resources section includes reports, studies, government documents, and statements related to the 5 priorities;
  4. And our video section keeps a running database of videos released by the Task Force, as well as other videos that relate to our issues;
  5. And of course our press release section is a database of all press releases, media advisories, and statements released by the Task Force

However, the most useful part of this website will likely be the blog – where you are right now.  Our intent is to provide you with breaking news, as well as in-depth analysis related to economic transparency.   Look out for frequent posts from experts in the field, policy-makers, and NGO leaders around the world.

If you want to go a step further, reach out to the Task Force on social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube among others. This website is here as a service for you, so please don’t hesitate to contact us with suggestions on how we can improve our online presence.

Thanks for joining us on this journey.
